Abstract

Objective: This research aims to analyze the internationalization strategies of Brazilian multinational companies manufacturing agricultural implements. It investigates how these companies strategize for global expansion, focusing on their approach to exploiting natural resources, market advantages, and strategic assets.

Methods: The study adopts Dunning's Typologies from the Nordic School and Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions as its theoretical-empirical framework. It conducts a comparative analysis of two pilot cases of competing companies with similar organizational structures.

Results: The findings reveal that these companies' strategic alignments are oriented towards various goals, including the exploitation of natural resources, leveraging labor cost advantages, seeking market and locational benefits, and investing in efficiency and strategic assets. These strategies are crucial for enhancing competitiveness through innovation and strategic capability development.

Conclusions: The study concludes that Brazilian multinational companies in the agricultural sector are actively pursuing diverse internationalization strategies. These strategies are intricately linked to resource and market-seeking objectives, efficiency enhancement, and the pursuit of strategic assets to foster innovation and growth in competitive capabilities. The research highlights the complexities and multi-dimensional nature of multinational companies' internationalization processes, especially in the context of emerging Latin American economies.
